Husband’s name: M. Natarajan – Sasikala Natarajan is an Indian woman politician and businessman from Tamil Nadu, who is the general secretary of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He is a close friend and adjutant of J. Jayalalithaa, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, who led the AIADMK from 1989 to his death in 2016.

Vidyasagar Rao accepted the resignation of Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on February 6, 2017, and instructed him to continue to function as interim Minister of Chair “until alternative arrangements are made”. The governor postponed announcing VK Sasikala as the new Chief Minister, awaiting the verdict of a fraud case against him. On February 14, 2017, VK Sasikala was convicted and sentenced to 6 years in prison in Bangalore parapana, and gave him 24 hours to surrender. Then the governor rejected his claim to be the chief minister. VK Sasikala then held the party’s MLA council in his capacity as Secretary General. There, Mr. Edpappadi k Palaniasamy was unanimously elected as the new Chief Minister and he was appointed the following day.


Sasikala Teacher was expelled

On August 21, 2017, Sasikala was expelled from AIADMK and removed from his position as Secretary General. Pengusiran Sasikala and her family caused Amma Makkal’s new Munnetra Kazhagam party. T. T. V. Dhinakaran was appointed as assistant secretary general and Sasikala became secretary general of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam.

On February 14, 2017, the Supreme Court of India found Sasikala and his accused colleague – Ilavarasi (his brother-in-law) and VN Sudhakaran (his niece) – guilty of conspiring, washing and collecting illicit wealth worth around 66.64 crore (equivalent to ₹ 272 crore or US $ 38 million in 2018) in the 1990s in a criminal conspiracy with Jayalalithaa. The three were sentenced to four years in prison.
